Making upwards missing about of the NBA Bubble Finals considering of work. Coming from an LA native as much as I hate to say it--their fans and Donnie Wahlberg's dumbass shitty fucking voice still-- this documentary makes the Celtics look like a pretty likable gritty blueish collar fundamentals type team particularly compared to the flashy showtime Lakers squads that dominated the 80's. Love the hell out of the Bird highlights especially.
This felt like an expansion of the Courtship of Rivals documentary that was on HBO a few years back but not necessarily amend. I didn't realize it would focus and so much on the lxxx's rivalry barely touching on the 2008 and 2010 finals which would hateful a lot more to me tbh because I was really alive when those finals happened! I wanted to relive the hurting of 2008!

The definitive look at basketball's greatest rivalry, this film chronicles the entire story in a manner that respects both parties. The narration by Ice Cube and Donnie Wahlberg was great on both sides. Another impressive documentary from ESPN and xxx for xxx.

A piddling over four hours. I would've liked it to become longer and include the ii times they met up in the late 2000s.
It was also cool to see this after seeing an HBO documentary that centered around the Bird and Lakers rivalry (Courtship of Rivals) specifically rather than this i which traced the rivalry of the two franchises. -
What an enlightening deep-dive into how a rivalry became what information technology is today. Narration past Ice Cube and Donnie Wahlberg were so much fun to listen to, specially when they're talking smack to the interviews playing. At four.five hours long, information technology is immensely thorough, and nonetheless I would have gladly watched some other couple of hours covering the rivalry and championships in the 2000s. I of the best explanations of what makes the era this documentary covers special is most its finish when Ice Cube talks about the deviation in rivals and enemies. He's absolutely right because those players (the best of the best at the fourth dimension) went through so much confronting each other, over and over and over, forever condign tied to ane another for life. Gosh, I loved every second of this so much. Go Lakers. Eff that leprechaun.

if you like basketball, you lot will probably like this documentary, what else can i say?

Aside from the compelling story of probably the greatest rivalries in NBA history, ane with larger than life figures and filled with incredible moments, I loved how this documentary took the fourth dimension to put it into the broader context of race relations in America. There is some really insightful, challenging commentary from people like Wynton Marsalis, Nelson George, and Bryant Gumbel here, and when yous couple that with the activeness on the court, the effect is something few sports documentaries tin can match.
The 1980'due south portion of the flick couldn't have been any improve scripted as a picture show – a rivalry between two electrical, talented players carrying over from the NCAA finals into a decade of dizzying NBA play. I black,…

I realize sports fans and flick fans don't ever interconnect a lot in gild but the lack of a lot of the 30 for 30 and ESPN films docs have is disrespectful, then if you have any interest in sports or want to become into sports/sport history please check out ESPN films and 30 for 30s, watched on and off today

One of the best rivalries, and an amazing backstory, in the history of sports.

Every bit a Celtics fan this was amazing. Loved it and then much. It was crawly how there was non one dominating perspective. The director kept it extremely counterbalanced. It was a bully touch each team'south take was narrated by a fan that grew upwardly in the respected city(Donnie Wahlberg for Boston and Icecube for LA). It made it a more sincere feel hearing the view of both fan. In virtually NBA movies the audition will see the aforementioned footage over and over over again and over again. There was good game and personal home video footage I had never see before. There was and adequate amount of interesting facts I had never heard. And I learned more about the racial divide in relation…
